About you

In our childhood we often heard stories, sometimes true and sometimes make-believe, that told us that if we really believe we can do something, it will happen.  Remember Dumbo and the feather?  When he held onto the feather and really believed, he could fly.  Remember the little engine?  When it really believed ("I think I can ..."), it could pull the whole train up over the mountain.  Remember Thomas Edison?  No matter that it took many attempts, there had to be a way!

Remember Scarecrow? Lion? Tinman?  Dorothy?  Each  one had a need, a desire to be whole, a longing to get back home.  They had a belief that if they could get to the wizard those needs would be met.  Imagine their disappointment upon hearing that the wizard couldn't (or wouldn't) help them!

All of us enter this world with a need to be whole and a longing to get back home.  By our nature we are sinners, causing us to be separated from God -- away from "home" and not quite whole.  But God made a way for us to become whole and return home to Him.  "God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)  If you believe ...

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  (Romans 10:9)  We do not need to perform great feats, or hold onto a feather, or click our heels three times.  All we need to do is believe, and we become whole and gain an eternal home.
